Demystifying Science Based Carbon Targets

Breakout

Setting climate science-targets is a powerful way for companies in the fashion industry to demonstrate their commitment to climate action, and to keep global temperature rise between 1.5C and well below 2C.  Doing so helps organizations build more sustainable business models, boost competitive advantage and become more responsive to diverse stakeholders, including customers, investors, employees and broader society. As companies transition to a low carbon economy, this breakout session will provide an in-depth discussion on how to set science-based targets and what it takes to achieve net zero ambitions.  Learn practical insights like setting a baseline, identifying relevant targets, analyzing and selecting reduction strategies and obtaining approval from the Science-Based Targets Initiative. Through the session, we will highlight good practices in the apparel industry as well as the key factors of success, while exploring the challenges that many face in data collection.

PLEASE NOTE: REGISTRATION FOR THIS BREAKOUT IS ONLY AVAILABLE THROUGH THE PREVIOUS PANEL “BEYOND CARBON”.
