Poonam brings over 20 years of leading ESG initiatives for the following sectors: power generation, mining, fertilizer, energy, military, government and now apparel. Her expertise includes developing strategic approaches on ESG which include (but not limited to): Climate Change Disclosures aligned to the Task Force on Climate Related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) framework, SASB and GRI; and in developing ESG strategies.
She has a Master of Business Administration at Athabasca University in Alberta. She also holds a Post-Baccalaureate Diploma in Management, and a Bachelor of Science in Environmental and Conservation Sciences from the University of Alberta. In 2018, Poonam’s efforts were recognized by the Mining Association of Canada for her work in sustainability.
Poonam recently relocated from Alberta and currently works at Gildan one of the world’s largest vertically-integrated manufacturers of apparel headquartered in Montreal. She is responsible for creating and driving the company’s new ESG strategy and targets and for their ESG disclosures.
