Nirvana Mujtaba is the Women’s Rights Policy and Advocacy Specialist at Oxfam Canada, a prestigious NGO known for its efforts in combating inequality and patriarchy while addressing poverty and injustice. She is a human rights advocate with nearly a decade of experience in policy advocacy and human rights due diligence. She gained technical expertise while working with UN agencies and international non-profit organizations in South and Southeast Asia, East Africa, the Middle East and North and Central America. She graduated from York University with a master’s degree in economics.
Nirvana brings a comprehensive understanding of policy influencing, advocacy and business influencing to promote human rights, gender justice, labour rights, and social protection for historically marginalized populations. Her efforts help to amplify the voices of those who are often ignored, supporting their well-being and ensuring their rights are acknowledged and protected.
